Spinach with meat is a hearty, traditional dish where tender lamb or beef simmers with wilted spinach, onions, and spices in a light tomato base. Thickened with a touch of flour, it’s flavorful, nourishing, and versatile.

Cook the meat
- Heat a little oil in a pot and fry the meat until browned.
- Transfer the meat to another pot, cover with warm water and a pinch of salt, and simmer until tender.
Cook the spinach
- In the same pot where the meat was browned (using the leftover fat), fry the chopped onions until soft.
- Add the spinach and stir until it wilts and reduces in volume.
Thicken the base
- Stir in the flour and mix well.
- Add paprika, then the tomato purée (or chopped tomatoes) dissolved in a little water.
- Pour in about 1 cup (250 ml) of cold water to help soften the flour mixture.
Combine and simmer
- Season with curry, turmeric, Vegeta, and salt.
- Return the cooked meat and its broth to the spinach mixture.
- Adjust liquid as needed.
- Simmer until the spinach is soft and flavors are blended.
